The Emperor Collection is Namiki’s highest ranking series. Exquisitely crafted using traditional Japanese Maki-e techniques, such as Togidashi Taka Maki-e, Rankaku and Raden, the pen is hand-crafted by a skilled artisan Yasunori Sakamoto in a process that takes over four months to complete. Basically the Artist textures the white rabbit fur through Rankaku-nuri, a painstaking method of using crushed eggshells that are arranged like miniature mosaic fragments. The reflections of the moonlight on foliage are emphasised by strategically selecting leaves for raden, an inlay using mother-of-pearl shells. The pen is fitted with a fine Medium (M) 18ct gold nib imprinted with Mt. Fuji in a white platinum wash and the Namiki pentagon. Includes original wooden box, outer packaging, booklet and pipette. This pen employs an eyedropper filling system. Near mint condition
