White lacquer barrel, 925 sterling silver trim, clip with mandarin garnet. The design of the Limited Edition Mahatma Gandhi has been inspired by the symbol of India’s independence, a symbol also of Gandhi’s actions: the spinning wheel. The design of the surface of the lacquer recalls the fine structure of cotton. The cap and cone with their complex ornamentation of Ag 925 sterling silver symbolize the thread, the mandarin garnet on the clip represents the orange in the Indian flag and reflects the high symbolic value of the spinning wheel. A superb, near mint condition example.
It comes with outer box, display box, booklet/certificate (the pen was purchased @ MB Boutique Nice, France on November 26th 2011), small hardcover book, sealed International Display Service Polishing cloth, original receipt from MB store.
