MONTBLANC Early No 6 Rouge et Noir sliding barrel shell

Circa 1906 – 1908.

MONTBLANC Early No 6 Rouge et Noir sliding barrel shell (aka Moore filling system) fountain pen in black hard rubber cap and barrel topped by a red disc (with original pin). Circa 1906 – 1908.

#6 size is a very big size for a sliding barrel Rouge et Noir (lenght : 15,5 cm). However it is not the biggest size as Rouge et Noir exists also with #7 size. Excellent condition with no crack, no dings and no scratches. The pen needs a new cork if you really want to write with (if you please, we can manage to obtain this service from Dr. Osman Sümer in Hamburg). Very important reference in Montblanc history. Extremely rare. Should you need any further information, condition report or extra photos please do not hesitate to contact us.

Nota bene

In 2006 Montblanc went back to its roots with a limited edition pen that is a recreation of the original Rouge et Noir safety pen with sliding barrel shell (aka Moore filling system): the MONTBLANC Rouge et Noir Replica Limited Edition 100 Anniversary Fountain Pen. The 2006 R&N replica shows a vulcanized hard rubber body with a red cap top and an eye-dropper safety filling system. The pen comes with a traveling inkwell and protective slip cover in the style of the original packaging. The 2006 R&N replica has a #4 size: 4 7/8″, circa 12.4 cm) and it is fitted with a 18 K gold retractable nib with heart shaped ink reservoir.
